Vari-Ten Wire Antenna Tensioners

Patent Pending #61960763

KEEP ANTENNAS UP WHEN WIND AND ICE TRY TO BRING THEM DOWN

The Vari-Ten wire antenna Tensioner is a unique antenna accessory for amateur radio operators to protect wire antennas from damage when the support trees sway in the wind. Tensioners are an antenna shock absorber, calibrated wire Tensioner, and end insulator all in one stealthy unit that easily hides in the tree top canopy. Or they can be mounted vertically or on an angle at ground level. They are simple to install, rugged, and will automatically control wire tension, antenna sag, and absorb shock when the wind moves the support trees. Installation and all adjustments are done from the ground with no need to climb a tree.

ANTENNAS SURVIVE HURRICANES ARTHUR AND MATTHEW

Hurricanes Arthur and Matthew,  major Category 2 hurricanes made landfall in 2014 and 2016 along the southeast coast. There were dozens of Tensionersprotecting HF wire antennas along the path of tropical storm winds from both storms.  All of the antennas were supported by trees that were whipped around wildly by the winds.  They experienced wind gusts of 50-60 mph for extended periods as the storms made their way northward.  There has been no reported damage to any of the Tenssioners which is solid testimony to the ruggedness of antenna protection by Vari-Ten Tensioners.
